Next thing on my list
Last week I bought and read Jill Smolinksi’s The Next Thing On My List. It was a great book, I don’t want to spoil it though, but I do highly recommend it.
Ever since reading it, I have felt inspired to write my own list. Sort of like a new years resolution except not on new years, but for things to complete before the end of this year. At first I chose to complete it by my birthday (Oct) but thought it was a little too early.
So far on my list I have four things.
- Donate blood to the red-cross (because I have an intense fear of needles and blood tests - but I know I can help someone out there, since I have the most wanted blood type)
- Read 100 books. Since writing this list, I have read 4 novels and 1 “how-to” book. I plan to also write the list of books with mini-reviews for each story and give them a rating.
- Get my drivers license. I can drive, well I used to 3 years aog, then my car was stolen and I never drove since. Even though I know have a nice new car, I am scared to drive it because it is so wide, and no body wants to “teach” me. I will save for lessons if I have to.
- Learn to knit. I have always wanted to know. My sister has been trying to teach me but she goes too fast, and I get confused with all the threads and everything. I can sew anything, yet when it comes to knitting I am useless.
I need to think of 16 more for my list, and accomplish them all. If you had a list, what would be on it?

Learn to sew something other than t-shirts and pillows. I want to be able to make really fashionable clothes and maybe really cute corsets and stuff. I think it would be awesome to design my own clothing.

I would go with something really silly. Maybe buying $100 worth of candy or going fishing without the rods and all that other equipment. It would be nice to do something completely different. Me and one of my old friends used to do this kind of stuff all the time and we had so much fun.

I share some of your goals! Especially the car licence and the knitting ones. I wish you luck on accomplishing them.

Oh I can think of hundreds of things to put on such a list…I’m completely addicted to this kind of stuff. Setting goals is something that gives me an enormous amount of pleasure. I think I have to read that book
