I won!!

Posted by Bobbi-lee - June 24th, 2007

The competition I entered a few months back has announced the results today and I won the Peoples Choice Award, with my artwork. Thanks to everyone who voted for me and gave me encouragement. I am pretty excited about it, as I now have an official graphic design award to put on my resume, not to mention the Sony DCR-SR40 HDD digital video camera I have won.

I also have a radio interview with ABC News and an article in the local newspaper, so thats some more good exposure on my artwork. My boss is worried that I will get a better job out of it now and leave her, but I don’t think it would go that far for just an award.

I had really hoped I would win the industry award, the prize package was an Apple Mac with all design software from Adobe, but I am happy just to win anything and very grateful I had this opportunity.

Anyway many thanks to everyone again for voting for me!

Clean Up

Posted by Bobbi-lee - June 18th, 2007

I hate cleaning. I am proudly a messy unorganised person, I like my “creatively styled” mess. Carl on the other hand loves cleaning.

On sunday we had a big cleanup and reorganised the house, furniture and my mess. I went through packed boxes I have had for 3 years left untouched. I managed to get everything neat and tidy. It was such an achievement for me to get everything done.

Whilst going through said boxes, I found items I don’t remember owning, and many things I had deemed lost. I also found a lot of jewellery I hadn’t seen forever. I decided to instead of leaving my jewellery all tangled up strewn through boxes and drawers, to put them all nicely on my dresser. I love the end result, it is organised, yet slightly cluttered, but just the way I like it.

Layout Trouble

Posted by Bobbi-lee - June 15th, 2007

I can’t help being a perfectionist when it comes to my layout. Even though my site is all validated and looks good in most browsers, I really need help on the following things

  1. The space/padding between the sidebar and the content is a huge gap on higher resolutions. How do I make the two closer together and not so stretched?
  2. I want the title and comment link to be in the same sort of style div like the date format above. Like this example. I managed to get it very close, but then when you click on the comment link only the comments show without the blog. Then when I changed it around a bit, it showed the blog but no comments or comment form. I am really confused how to do this.
  3. Anything else to make my site look “normal” on all browsers.

Thanks if anyone can help, or give me any tips.
