I hate winter
I hate winter, I absolutely do. Because it is so cold and windy, because the sky is always grey and dull. Because my legs have turned white due to lack of sun, because I got soaking wet on my way to work on Monday.
As I made my way to the bus stop which is directly across the road from my place, the sky decided to chuck buckets of water at me. I stood at the doorway of my place looking across the road willing the rain to stop. I step out from under cover and run to the road getting soaked because I don’t have an umbrella. As I am standing there trying to get across the road whilst cars zoom by splashing me with monstrous puddles I see the bus on the other side go straight past. I run back into my place and try to dry myself off a bit. I am so unprepared, I can’t find a single raincoat or umbrella - they are probably packed in one of the boxes.
Half an hour passes and its time to go back and try negotiate the road and get the next bus. I go downstairs and stand in my doorway once again. It is pouring down double than it was before and I contemplate calling in sick. I manage to get to the road and halfway across when suddenly all this traffic appears from nowhere, and I am stuck in the middle of the busy highway,in the middle of a downpour, with no umbrella, my jacket soaked through, freezing my bum off and not one car had the decency to slow down and let me get across the other side. It seems they, being in their nice warm dry insulated cars, have more important things to do. After what seems like forever, I get to the other side of the road. I curse myself for not having an umbrella and curse the council for not making this bus stop have a shelter. The one on the other side of the road has one, but the one on this side is just a broken seat.
Eventually I get on my bus and make my way to work knowing I am very late. Once I get off the bus I have a choice, run 200 meters into the shops and buy an umbrella then run the 200 meters back and then another 600 meters to work. Or just forget going to the shop because I am already so late and just run the 600 meters in the rain to work. Stupidly I decided against the umbrella and try to get myself to work as quick as possible. I arrive soaking wet and cold, two hours late all because of the rain. I curse myself again for not getting my license and for not having an umbrella, and for not calling in sick. It almost puts a new meaning to my site, because I was literally walking into the rain.

Aww, that sounds horrible! I bet next time you’ll call in!

I like winter, but in the most recent winters we haven’t been getting any snow and it makes me feel terrible. If it’s going to be cold, at least snow!
That’s pretty horrible about the rain. The same thing happened to me this year on the way to school, and it wasn’t fun at all… Also, this winter I had to get up early for swimming, and I had to walk back in the cold air with my wet hair. It looked bad and it was freezing!

I would gladly take your cold. I much prefer winter. Of course, you probably don’t have pretty snowfalls but there’s something so serene about a blanket of snow over the landscape, and feeling like you’re the only person out in the world because everyone else is tucked snuggly into blankets and sipping tasty, hot drinks from coffee mugs in front of fireplaces.
It is wet, of course. I have this issue of water traveling up the back of my pants legs, and soaking the back of my legs up to my knees. Splashing is inevitable but, though I can like the rain just as much. At least when it’s cold, you can do something to warm up but when it’s warm, doing something only makes you warmer. Bleh.
I also love thunderstorms. I sleep so well during them. Unfortunately, rain often brings humidity which no one likes. alas.
Maybe you would prefer a real winter. -w-

I would rather a snowy winter anyday than cold wet rain. I have never seen snow so it would be really magical for me. And at least in snow it would be cold enough to be able to wear jackets and warm clothes all day, because winter here you wear a jacket and by lunch its too hot, but if you take it off its too cold and you never win.
I am used to warm weather, I grew up in Port Hedland which is usually over 35 degrees Celsius every day (we have been up to 49 degrees) and I can easily cool myself down rather than warm myself up for winter.
