The competition I entered a few months back has announced the results today and I won the Peoples Choice Award, with my artwork. Thanks to everyone who voted for me and gave me encouragement. I am pretty excited about it, as I now have an official graphic design award to put on my resume, not to mention the Sony DCR-SR40 HDD digital video camera I have won.
I also have a radio interview with ABC News and an article in the local newspaper, so thats some more good exposure on my artwork. My boss is worried that I will get a better job out of it now and leave her, but I don’t think it would go that far for just an award.
I had really hoped I would win the industry award, the prize package was an Apple Mac with all design software from Adobe, but I am happy just to win anything and very grateful I had this opportunity.
Anyway many thanks to everyone again for voting for me!

I can’t help being a perfectionist when it comes to my layout. Even though my site is all validated and looks good in most browsers, I really need help on the following things
- The space/padding between the sidebar and the content is a huge gap on higher resolutions. How do I make the two closer together and not so stretched?
- I want the title and comment link to be in the same sort of style div like the date format above. Like this example. I managed to get it very close, but then when you click on the comment link only the comments show without the blog. Then when I changed it around a bit, it showed the blog but no comments or comment form. I am really confused how to do this.
- Anything else to make my site look “normal” on all browsers.
Thanks if anyone can help, or give me any tips.

I have made a new tutorial on using Adobe Illustrator, I have split it into various sections including making brushes, and using gradient blends. It isn’t the best tutorial but I tried to make it as informative yet simple as possible.
Read the Tutorial
There is more to add, when I have more time.
I am also thinking of revamping this whole site, with a new layout, tutorial section etc, and making it a more personal/less information site. When I first opened this domain I said I didn’t care ho read it, whether they were enemies or old friends from school or some random. But it has come to my attention that I think my mum has been reading my blog 1, and I know my dad has googled us kids names before to see what we have been up to. I can’t just say to my mum, hey have you been reading my blog.
1. With all the questions she asks me relating to the posts I have written, the day after I write them, like yesterday she asked me if I still use my sewing machine that she gave me
